About Heather Bishop
Heather is an attorney on the mass torts team at Claggett & Sykes Law Firm. She attended The Pennsylvania State University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with distinction. Notwithstanding her academic achievements, her proudest moment as a Penn Stater involved her participation as a captain for THON, the world’s largest student-run philanthropy which raises millions for children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
Following college, Heather attended Villanova University School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2006. During law school, Heather interned for judges at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts, providing her with knowledge and a unique insight into the inner workings of various court systems. Heather also was selected to act as a Student Attorney for the Federal Tax Clinic where she represented low-income taxpayers in IRS tax disputes.
Heather’s law career began as a law clerk serving the Honorable Thomas P. Olivieri (Ret.) of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division. Heather then worked at a large national law firm for over seven years. Here, she represented clients in a variety of high-stakes complex litigations, primarily in the areas of structured finance and commercial law. Fortunately, this firm also afforded Heather ample opportunity to take on pro bono matters, from guardianships for incapacitated individuals to actions against the federal government for violations of constitutional rights.
Her past experiences - in life and law - have led Heather to her current legal practice in mass torts. Her drive to help others, coupled with her years of navigating complex, large legal matters, provides Heather with invaluable skills needed for success.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and following Penn State football.
