Don’t Miss Your Chance to Vote in Nevada’s Primary Election
With all that’s going on in the world, elections may not be on top of our minds. But it is election year and elections in Nevada are approaching quickly. Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske has issued a press release announcing that, for the first time ever, Nevada’s primary election will be an all mail-in election. There will be no early voting or having to stand in line to vote in person. Just mail back your ballot–free of charge–or drop it off at a designated location. But, you must be registered to vote in order to receive a ballot.
Starting in May, all registered voters will receive a voter packet that includes your ballot, instructions on how to cast your ballot, a postage paid envelope to return your ballot through the mail, and a list of mail ballot drop off sites where you can drop off your ballot if you prefer to do so. Ballots must be post-marked by June 9, 2020.
How to Register
If you need to register to vote or make sure your registration is active and up-to-date, go to www.registertovotenv.gov. You can also register to vote, or update your registration, by mail. There are important deadlines to keep in mind if you still need to register to vote:
If you are not registered to vote and have questions, the Nevada Secretary of State has as a FAQ page that has instructions on how to register, which you can find here: Nevada Secretary of State FAQ.
