Micah Echols Has Been Named 2022 Trial Lawyer of the Year by Nevada Justice Association
Claggett & Sykes is proud to announce that attorney Micah Echols has been named the 2022 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Nevada Justice Association (NJA). This is an extraordinary honor, because it is our fellow trial lawyers vote for their peer they think is deserving of the award.
The Nevada Justice Association “is an organization of independent lawyers who represent consumers and share the common goal of improving the civil justice system.” It achieves these means through continuing legal education opportunities for members, through its efforts to protect justice in Nevada’s legislation, and by educating the public on its rights.
Each year, NJA recognizes a Trial Lawyer of the Year:
A lawyer who upholds the honor of the legal profession and is a true defender of the people; a lawyer who works to protect the rights of injured victims and consumers; a lawyer who successfully handles a case of major public importance in state or federal court, including appellate courts; a lawyer who assists NJA and AAJ in their efforts to protect the rights of consumers and injured victims at the state legislature and the U.S. Congress; a lawyer who devotes substantial time and effort to further the goals of NJA by serving as an officer, board member and fundraiser; a lawyer who frequently publishes articles and gives speeches in support of the rights of injured victims and consumer rights; and lastly, a lawyer who earns admiration and respect for trial lawyers as a result of noteworthy activities.
This year the honor goes to Micah, whose efforts on behalf of clients, NJA, and the justice system as a whole have been outstanding. He is the third trial attorney from Claggett & Sykes to win this award. Sean Claggett was honored in 2017, and Peter Durney in 2010.

We are not simply a personal injury firm. We are trial lawyers who take on catastrophic injury, brain injury, and wrongful death cases. These cases are different than most personal injury cases and the needs of these cases cannot be met by law firms that take on just any case.
